Christian Education Is Looking For New Board Members

Christian Education
Develops opportunities and resources for life-long learning focusing on religious faith and its implications in a multi-cultural society. It does this by providing consultancy services, publishing, some small grants and sponsoring the subject association for RE teachers.

Annual turnover is approx. £1 million p.a. Main income streams, are publishing including a subscription publishing scheme; consultancy and other contract income; and grants. Christian Education is both a registered Charity and Company.

Trustees and Company Directors
In association with a current Board skills audit, Christian Education is looking for potential new members of its Board.  In particular it is looking for people with experience in business, consultancy services, marketing, and publishing both in print and on-line sympathetic to working with a Christian charitable enterprise.

Three one day meetings normally take place either in Birmingham, one more usually takes place in London. There is a residential 26hr meeting Friday/Saturday at the end of June usually at a hotel in the West Midlands.  Trustees are expected to keep in touch with other aspects of the charities work, by sitting on sub committees and working groups, attending functions etc.  Trustees spend between 6-12 days a year on charity business. All positions are voluntary and expenses will be paid to reimburse reasonable travel and other costs necessarily incurred.

Applications are welcome at any time. The next review of possible new candidates will be in mid January 2010.
